Colon Hydrotherapy History

HISTORY

Historians tell us that the practice of Colon Hydrotherapy, or in its basic form; Enema, was first used by the Egyptians. The Ebers Paprus, of the 14th Century B.C., and the Edwin Smith Paprus (c. 1700 BC.,) both mention enemas and give directions for the use of the enema. By the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, with the advent of rubber and plastic the enema slowly gave way to strict FDA standards and safety in colon hydrotherapy equipment.
Dr. Kellogg reported in the 1917 Journal of American Medicine that utilized cleansing of the bowels, diet and of course exercise as a popular treatment. Colon Hydrotherapy eventually gained the attention of James A. Wiltsie, M.D., Who contended that “our knowledge of the normal and abnormal physiology of the Colon, and its pathology and management, has not kept pace with that of many Organs and Systems of the body.” In 1995, Tiller Mind Body Inc. completed the registration and license process with the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). Pre-market notification and received a letter allowing the distributing of the LIBBE Device. Tiller Mind Body Inc. manufactures medical devices under strict quality management system and strives to meet the regulations of a quality management system.

What is a Libbe Colon Hydrotherapy open system?

The Lower Intestine Bottom Bowel Evacuation device open system is considered to be the Rolls Royce of Colon Hydrotherapy treatment devices, providing more privacy, dignity and efficacy whilst offering the client a more relaxing, safe and comfortable treatment session. This system allows the client and or qualified nurse therapist more control of their treatment. One distinct
advantage with the Libbe device is the pencil-thin rectal tube, which clients find extremely comfortable. One of the key factors is that your privacy is protected at all times, since the specially designed bed allows you to easily insert the lubricated thin rectal tube by yourself. Many people find this deeply reassuring and comforting. Once the water flow is turned on, there is no need to interrupt the cleanse. Your colon will gently take in as much water as it can tolerate. When you feel the need to evacuate, you simply release. Because of the continuous inflow and release during the treatment, the body’s own muscles are used to provide a more natural, gentle release. At the same time, the peristalsis (action of the muscles of the colon) is greatly stimulated and this provides an excellent workout for the colon. Because of the nature of the LIBBE device, the qualified nurse therapist does not need to be there with you all the time. This affords you as much privacy as you may desire
